I think I’ll stick with the original Japanese version since the English translation team have basically changed dialogue in order to push their SoKai agenda. Do they think romance sells? Just leave it as platonic FRIENDSHIP like it was intended! Nomura gives zero fucks.
Kairi my bb nobody treats you right 😤😤 at least we know in the manga adaptation you’ll get a better treatment. (Kh2 manga still a fave. Kairi is badass)
Damn you localization team! WTF!
I’m gonna stop you right there.
The localization team has been given creative liberties to make it understandable to the western audience.
I’m under the impression that Sora said “Sasuga Kairi, tsuyoi n da” or along those lines. There’s no immediate translation for sasuga that makes sense in context of the western world.
People don’t say “as expected of you” that’s more of an anime thing than anything else.
And this isn’t the first time too as FFXV’s localization of Gladio made him more of a bully than the Japanese version but I digress. There’s only one thing I can think of people hating Sokai being integrated into the plot via localization… its because of the rival ship isn’t it?
I don’t really care, as the core story elements is still there. Don’t ship anything but bashing the localization team and saying “I’ll stick to the Japanese script” is quite ironic considering you haven’t played the Japanese version and you won’t understand most of the dialogue.
Could people stop putting their anti sokai posts in the sokai tag please? I saw this several times now and it makes things in the fandom worse since the ending was hard enough to swallow anyway. We don’t need more ship wars after that.
I agree with you. Also mild dialog changing through translation happens all the time. Please stop bashing the localisation team and Sokai because of it.
Even if the line “Kairi, you make me feel strong,” wasn’t meant to be romantic or anything originally, there was still some sort of thing that just clicked for Sora.
Just before that line, you have him realizing she had always believed in him, even when he thought he’d failed and when he’d died, she still believed in him. She kept holding on to him, she didn’t let go. He listens to her in awe, and then thinks back to the two acts of true love we saw in the game before his eyes widen slightly and he holds her hand tighter, suddenly more confident and hopeful. She gave him strength because she believed in him, just like Riku did. They both believed in him even when all was lost, and that gave him the strength to carry on.
How is it that you guys feel so entitled enough to go as far as to attack the localization team for work you don’t even specialize in? Why? Where does that leave you exactly?
KH discourse makes me wish that I didn’t know how to read
Are people trying to pretend Sora and Kairi aren’t a canon couple?
