Since I’ve seen this get misunderstood practically everywhere since the parents showed up in MHA I’m gonna just try to clear this up-
Bakugou isn’t the shitlord he is because he grew up being abused. In fact it was the opposite.
They’ve explained why he is the way he is at least twice in the series up to where the anime is now- once when Deku explained how the two used to be friends and once in the same scene that started all of this by his own mother. He was spoiled and ass pattedsince he was a kid because he won the quirk super lottery and did well across the board and because of that he developed a massive ego and a superiority complex. He’s not lashing out because he’s been abused, he’s looking down on people because he thinks he’s so great. He even points this out himself later on.
Like that’s it. They really spell it out.
His whole character arc revolves around him realising over time that he was just a big fish in a little pond because the people around him are just as capable as him if not moreso. Turning it around to make out that his character is a result of abuse is ignoring all of that.
Whether or not Mitsuki smacking him across the head was actually abuse or not is a separate issue that I’m not even going to touch upon here, but I just wanted to get this out there.
Is this really an issue that people feel the need to bring up?
