because these are supposed to be different characters

people on this post saying shit like “oh of course you cant recognize them without the face” but literally one of the key concepts of good character designs is making their silhouettes look different like literally look at ANY good thing with well designed characters and you’ll see that their silhouettes are easily recognizable as the character

Anyone in this thread know what a uniform is

Of course, characters in a uniform will look the same/similar when you take off their faces/heads you twit. If you are familiar with the characters, you’d be able to tell who is who based off of their poses. 

No matter how fucking good your character design is you can’t expect people who don’t know the characters to be able to tell them apart from one another because they don’t recognize them.

#like if i were to put all of the overwatch characters silhouettes on a board#and remove their faces#and show people who have practically no knowledge of overwatch beyond just passing information#like how i know the girls are from love live because i’ve seen the uniform enough times from people reblogging and sharing it#if someone has that same level of information i have towards love live to overwatch#of course they wouldn’t be able to tell who the different characters are#because THEY AREN’T FAMILIAR WITH THEM#like they aren’t familiar with the characters mannerisms or personalities#which goes into how you’d produce a silhouette#and someone who is an avid love live fan would be able to tell the different characters apart#just based on how they’re posed#because they ACTUALLY KNOW the characters#so miss me with the bu-but a good silhouette#bullshit because#a good silhouette wont fucking matter#IF NO ONE KNOWS WHO THE CHARACTER IS#and whether or not people recognize the character isnt based in their silhouettes#its based in how familiar they are with the franchise#purely from a design perspective#the characters STILL have different silhouettes#they’re just wearing the same uniform because idk#ITS A UNIFORM AND THE SHOW TAKES PLACE IN A SCHOOL#SO OF FUCKING COURSE when you have characters WEARING A UNIFORM they will look similar#also faces FACES ARE VERY FUCKING IMPORTANT in character design
