honestly what makes the mario 64 .5 a presses meme so funny to me isn’t just the fact that it’s possible that you’d spend 12 hours hugging a wall just to beat one mission, but it’s the fact that a person online took the time out of their life not only to do research into this and experiment with something as precise as this (presumably with a fuck ton of trial and error), but it’s the fact that they explain it so calmly like they’re delighted to talk about crossing into a parallel dimension by gaining infinite speed in a 3d platforming game made in 1996. this person sounds like they know exactly what they’re talking about and they’re right somehow. all of this bullshit logic about parallel dimensions did in fact get them the star at the end of the day. nowhere did the commentator go “hey wait is any of what i’m saying making any sense” no they just continued to go on and on about quantium fucking physics in mario at length and it actually payed out
