Hmm. Tbh, if I do something shitty, I’d rather be thoroughly called out for it. “Don’t like, don’t look” has always been used to excuse some pretty awful stuff. Protecting artists is well and good but idk this all feels a bit iffy right now
We’ve said “if it’s fictional, it’s fine” for about….oh goodness, more than six months now! And we’ve gone over why being called out isn’t really effective: if you’re not ready to hear it or the criticism isn’t worded well, you’ll be openly hostile to it. And even if you respond perfectly, the person calling you out will most likely store screencaps and continue to use it as ammo for months after.
There’s plenty of websites that are unmoderated and therefore allow for that, but we don’t really want to be like that.
“Don’t like, don’t look” used to be the overall mantra for fandom, and that only changed in the past few years. We like older fandom and want to bring a space back that’s like that! If you’re not looking for that, then there’s lots of sites that don’t emulate that.

The Last Day of 2017
I just realized that a lot of Mark’s big projects are created from this year but it all seems so long ago. From A Date with Markiplier to the van videos, it has truly been a wonderful journey. I’m really proud of what Teamiplier has been able to do to impress us over and over again and also really really proud to be in this community. It has been a crazy year of theorizing and endless joy and fun being brought to us.
While we are still anxiously waiting to dissect more lore from the poems in DDLC because Mark just like to fuck with us, let’s look back at some of this year’s highlights on Mark’s channel!
